Description
One of the most sought-after large houseplants in existence, their exotic good-looks, huge shiny leaves and incredible flowers have made Bird of Paradise plants extremely popular since Victorian times. ‘Nicolai’ is a slightly more unique species which produces white flowers when it’s mature and the conditions are just right!
These plants are easy to care for, thriving in bright indirect light and moist, well-draining soil – allow the top two inches to dry between waterings. Feed well from Spring through Autumn, as these are hungry beggars that’ll grow very quickly each year. Keep above 14’C at all times. They should do fine without supplementary humidity, but will benefit from a boost. Larger leaves will naturally split over time, a behavior that allows light to reach the lower leaves of the plant in the wild.
