Look at these lucky little ladies! Purple Shamrock are a gorgeous flowering species that make a striking addition that’ll stand out amongst any collection; they’re also one of the most active plants out there. They’ll open and close their little clovers in response to changing light and also move around to find it.
They’re easy to care for, thriving in bright indirect light and moist soil that’s allowed to to dry out somewhat between waterings. Temperatures in the home should be fine year-round (above 16’C) and this will die back for several weeks during the winter, when watering should be stopped completely until the soil dries entirely and the plant disappears. Begin watering again a few weeks later and they’ll grow back bigger than ever! As with most houseplants, you do not want it to sit in saturated soil, so if you’re repotting, be sure to use a well-draining mix.
