A gigantic specimen of the unusual elephant-ear hybrid. Lauterbachiana is an upright & horizontally compact Alocasia variety with huge purple leaves shaped like serrated swords! The perfect statement plant for a bright corner, rarely available at this size.
Care-wise, being such a large plant, you can generally get away with watering less regularly than with smaller Alocasia, but be sure to drench the soil top-to-bottom when you do – check that you don’t feel any moisture in the top 4 inches of soil before watering. These prefer a very bright spot outside of direct sun, and whilst they aren’t overly fussy with humidity, they do benefit from a more humid environment. Fertilise heavily Spring through Autumn to continue its insane growth.
